Microsoft Works includes a spreadsheet program you can use to organize data and perform calculations. Microsoft Works Spreadsheet uses a grid-like structure for entering data (text or numbers). Simple Spreadsheet is a useful tool for the users that need to create tables and spreadsheets without installing complex applications. It does not aim to replace Microsoft Excel. OnlyOffice Spreadsheet Editor is also a great free spreadsheet software to replace Microsoft Excel, with a beautiful interface. It is not a standalone spreadsheet application. Instead, OnlyOffice Spreadsheet Editor is a part of OnlyOffice, an open source office suite developed by Ascensio System SIA.

Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program that is used for storing, organizing and manipulating data. Simple Spreadsheet is a useful tool for the users that need to create tables and spreadsheets without installing complex applications. It does not aim to replace Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice but only to provide you with the very basic features.

The application is lightweight and requires insignificant resources in order to build your spreadsheet. It is suitable for small data sheets since it only allows you to work with twenty six columns. Although the number of rows is virtually unlimited, you need to add new rows manually by using the Edit menu.

Overall, Simple Spreadsheet is indeed a simple tool for building data files. You cannot undo your mistakes while getting used to the data entry method, the equation editor only allows you to enter the cell references manually and you cannot save the data in a format supported by other office applications.

Although we do not recommend this tool for handling large spreadsheets, the source files included in the installation can be used by developers to make improvements to the current version.
